Well I had planned to update with pictures of the kids playing and enjoying the sunshine, but instead we found ourselves in the middle of a fire storm. As of Sunday we thought oh look there's a fire somewhere out there and then on Monday as I was one of the very few teachers driving to school (all districts who are sane canceled school) I was thinking that this was just going to be another day and the fires would be under control. Then on Tuesday, after the district got smart and canceled school, we got the order to evacuate. We could see the fires from our back yard, but were really thinking that we were not going to have to evacuate. After about 30 minutes our evacuation order was reversed (WOO! We felt better). We slept, or at least tried to, through the night and woke up this morning to see that the flames on the mountain behind us were gone! All is safe and we are now struggling to keep the 2-year old and 11-year old occupied. Not as easy as it may sound.
