About Us

Welcome....This is the story of our family. As the parents of a 3-year old and an 12-year old we are on a non-stop journey through life that includes diapers, teething, soccer, and middle school. Believe it or not, the latter seems to be the most difficult.

It's About Time!

It's one of those things that you think about but will get to it someday.....Well it finally came to someday. We really needed to get a family portrait done, considering we haven't had one done since Rebekah was Jacob's age. So Saturday we packed up the kids and finally did it, I must say it went very well and we are extremely happy with the photos.

Soccer Season YAHOO!

Well it's that time again, SOCCER! Rebekah had a chance to get some extra play time in by subbing for our "B" team. We were lucky that the photographer got some great action shots of Rebekah.

I thought that these were to two best shots of the game....They show Rebekah at her best!

Look at the height that she gets and no problem protecting that goal.

She has really learned to use her body in the game, and is not afraid to take that ball away from her opponents.

That's right Rebekah! Get that ball!

I love how she shows no fear during the game.

Look at that concentration on her face.

Father's Day At The Wild Animal Park

For mother's day we went on a cruise for father's day we spent the day at the Wild Animal Park for a special Father's Day Brunch.

Daddy and Jacob were decked out in their Hawaiian shirts, ready to celebrate.

We got our appetite up by leaping on the lilly pads.

Rebekah was ready to dig in to that kahlua pig and of course right behind her is the ICE CREAM BAR!

Jacob is of course is always ready for food, just look at that smile when you mention food.

Now who could not smile when looking at this face!

Rebekah eating, but saving room for that ice cream.

Jacob too, enjoys a big bowl of chocolate ice cream, and he ate it all, which shouldn't surprise me.

Rebekah enjoying the Heart of Africa walk.Okay so that is the update up till now. I know that I have gotten behind in posting, but life has a tendency to do that :) !

End of School Year

Rebekah had a great time as a 6th grader she went to camp, learned the ins and outs of middle school and continued to prove herself as an outstanding student. She earned 3-honor role medals, 1 for English, 1 for Math, and 1 for History.

She also received 4 certificates for being an outstanding student in History, English, Math and Science.

Grandma's Birthday

Happy 86th Birthday Grandma.....It was a whirlwind of a weekend. Rebekah and I flew up to Seattle (okay so Roy but who really knows where that is :) ) to visit grandma for her 86th birthday. It was a great weekend, we got to see grandma and grandma & grandpa. But what was really great was that I got to see cousins and aunts & uncles that I haven't seen in probably 20 years. WOW!

Uncle Alyn, Aunt Mary, Dad, Grandma and Uncle Ron at mom and dad's house.

Rebekah (in pink) playing volleyball with Ashley, Alex (holding ball) and Michael.

Grandma enjoying her birthday cake, and it was GOOD!

As always at mom's there is LOTS of food! We all enjoyed ourselves until we were stuffed.

How did Rebekah do with the whirlwind trip? She loved it and then knocked out! Oh by the way notice the rain through the car window.

It was a really good trip to overall, until our trip home that is.

See this is a picture of our plane. And there it sat, and sat and sat and sat. After an hour and fifteen minutes we were able to finally get off the ground and start our short flight to San Jose where we were supposed to change planes to San Diego. You notice I said supposed to!

So we get to San Jose and miss our plane by about 2 minutes! So what did we do? We sat in the San Jose airport for 4 hours, that's right 4 hours. Doesn't Rebekah look happy about that. Good thing she had her DVD player to keep her company.

So other than that this was our view for 4 hours, we were entertained by the crazy man selling things from a kiosk near us.

Everyone always asks why I hate to travel and this would be why!

Sea World

Well it had to happen, I swear Jacob has the personality of me and now I have proof that he is developing the same tastes for food that I have. Here he has discovered the wonderful goodness of hot dogs, yes it's wrong but come on hot dogs are just soooooooooooo gooooooood!

He also enjoyed the sharks that day, he is to the right of the picture staring at the sharks teeth.

What do I do all day........

Well most days are inside a classroom getting the kids to try to grasp the concepts of such things as why the periodic table is arranged the way it is, or why things interact the way they do. Then there are the times that getting out of the classroom and having fun is the best way to teach. Here we have our annual school health fair where we complete projects and activities to teach the students how to make healthy and safe choices. My friend and fellow teacher Aly and I got carried away with the activities.

Jumping rope was always fun, when I was 10!

Again jumping jacks, not my favorite thing......

Riding a bouncy ball, unfortunately you can't see all the students behind us laughing.

I think our expressions say it all.

Wait there's more.....no one told me that there was dancing involved.

It was fun, it was for a good cause and best of all it gave the students a good laugh. I am very fortunate to teach in San Diego, where we can get outside almost any day of the year.
