Well most days are inside a classroom getting the kids to try to grasp the concepts of such things as why the periodic table is arranged the way it is, or why things interact the way they do. Then there are the times that getting out of the classroom and having fun is the best way to teach. Here we have our annual school health fair where we complete projects and activities to teach the students how to make healthy and safe choices. My friend and fellow teacher Aly and I got carried away with the activities.
Jumping rope was always fun, when I was 10!
Again jumping jacks, not my favorite thing......
Riding a bouncy ball, unfortunately you can't see all the students behind us laughing.
I think our expressions say it all.
Wait there's more.....no one told me that there was dancing involved.
It was fun, it was for a good cause and best of all it gave the students a good laugh. I am very fortunate to teach in San Diego, where we can get outside almost any day of the year.

Happy Mother's Day
Mother's day came upon us so fast and decided to spend it on a San Diego Harbor Cruise. It was so much fun. Jacob is really into boats lately so he had a ball. We even had lunch on the embarcadero. It was a great day.

An Adventure to Remember
What a great opportunity I had today. The high school that my middle school feeds into invited me and a small group of students to visit the ocean institute. We drove the 1 1/2 hours to board a boat for 2 hours. And what we saw was amazing. We started by seeing lots of California Sea Lions, and then we spent about an hour sailing with a gigantic pod of bottle nosed dolphins. It was awesome! What a great adventure.
This sea lion was trying it's best to get up on the buoy and knock of the smaller ones.
As you can see the pups prevailed!
The dolphins swam right along side the boat as seen in these next pictures.
It was amazing. What a great learning opportunity.
