About Us

Welcome....This is the story of our family. As the parents of a 3-year old and an 12-year old we are on a non-stop journey through life that includes diapers, teething, soccer, and middle school. Believe it or not, the latter seems to be the most difficult.

Too Cute Not To Share.........

Life with a 2-year old is anything but dull. There are days that seem will never end and days that you wonder what happened to the last 2 years. My favorite days are the days that remind you just how much the smallest things make an impression on them, and of course watching them learn and discover new things each and everyday. That being said enjoy the following two videos that share two very special moments. And, I do realize that I spend much of my blog time devoted to Jacob. I plan to work on that in the new year.....Stay tuned for news from Universal Studios.

This first video is Jacob playing nap time with Daddy. It is pretty obvious that we have a predictable routine when it comes to going to bed.

This second video is Jacob showing off his counting skills. He has become such a great counter and reader. In addition to knowing all his numbers and letters he has begun to recognize certain words like his name, stop, and book.

A Day At The Park

Getting up today to a beautiful San Diego winter day we decided to partake in one of our favorite family activities, a trip to the Wild Animal Park. What started out as a very cold morning turned into a warm , sunny day. Enjoy our trip with us.

The entire ride up Jacob was so excited to see all the animals. He was entranced with the the Meerkats. Being that it was a colder day all the animals were out and active. By the way GREAT HAT grandma and grandpa!

There's nothing sweeter than watching Rebekah helping out with her brother. Having a big sister around can make everything more fun.

WOW! What a cool turtle shell! I would climb through but it's all wet and I am going through kind of a not wanting to get dirty stage, mom says I'm a little OCD but I'm not sure what that means just yet.

Look, Rebekah. Look at all the ducks out there.

Here duckies, I have food for you.

More sister-brother bonding. Isn't it sweet.

The ducks are my favorite......I could watch them all day (and we did).

Finally, I just had to include the gorilla. It was a great day, lot's of animals and lots of fun with the kids. Happy Holidays.

Hanukah Day 8 - The Story Comes To An End

Sadly our story comes to an end tonight. It has been a wonderful eight days. Being home each night with the kids and celebrating the heritage of their ancestors has been a joy.

"Rainbow candles I see 8, eight great days to celebrate"

One last day for Rebekah and Jacob to enjoy lighting the candles. I think that they're both becoming a little delirious.

Jacob is being goofy. He has suddenly started thinking that if he closes his eyes that no one can see him. Then he says "Where's Jacob" and give you a list of where he could be. "Is he in the bathroom?" "Is he in the kitchen?" Well you get the point......Cute, huh!

Present time once again. Jacob is not as anxious to carry them around now as he is to rip them open.

All right play-doh, Rebekah! Come play with me ;)

One last present. What could it be?

In Jacobs words, "This is a really heavy book" " Ooooh pretty pages"

One last present for Rebekah......she doesn't seem to excited tonight.

Wow! A new MP3 player. That 's exactly what I wanted.

Hanukah Day 7 - Still Going Strong

"Rainbow candles I see 7, golden flames leap up to Heaven".

Let's count the candles to make sure that we have them all.

Jacob has become very good at imitating the act of lighting the candles. He'll definitely be ready in a few years to do it on his own.

More presents.......hey this looks like clothes.......

But that's okay these are really cool clothes. Nothing beats Seahawk gear! (WOO-HOO 42-21 win yesterday to clinch the Division Title!) Thanks grandma and grandpa.

Jacob really likes to see what Rebekah gets. He is absolutely enthralled with all her glittery jewelery and such. Thanks grandma and grandpa for the necklace.

Hanukah Day 6 - Sorry Out of Titles

"Rainbow candles I see 6, let's make latkes I can mix".

Well Jacob was not too sure about the latkes, but he did enjoy playing with the Thomas trains that Aunt Juanita and Uncle Hugh gave him for Hanukah.

Candle time......this is getting easier each night. Jacob is liking the candle part a lot better, I think he knows that the less time he spends arguing the quicker he gets to the presents.

On tonights agenda was cars.....and lot of them. Grandma and Grandpa Ward gave him matchbox cars and a carrying case. Mom and Dad gave him cars from the movie and he put them all in his case.

Rebekah also enjoys opening presents....I don't think that she will ever get too old for it.

She really liked the rock tumbler that Grandpa Ward gave her, she wanted to start it up right then.

Jacob also was excited to get a doctor kit.

He makes such a cute doctor. As long he doesn't start poking people with real needles we're okay.

Hanukah Day 5 - Family Party Time

"Rainbow candles I see 5, my dreidel has some coins inside." - Not really but hey it rhymes ;)

After a dinner that seemed to take longer than the eight days Hanukah lasts we were ready to light the candles. Jacob looked on as Rebekah and Mason lit their menorah's.
Present time. Jacob loves presents but his favorite thing is to pass them out, so he carried this present around for about 20 minutes before we could convince him that it was his and he could open it. And it was a T-Ball set from Aunt Melissa, Uncle Marty, Mason and Max.

Once he started opening the presents he was very excited. Thank you Aunt Marianne and Uncle Dave for the play-doh.

Thank you grandma and grandpa for the fire engine.

I wonder what's inside?
Thanks to everyone for all the thoughtful gifts. We have been blessed with a wonderful family who show no selflessness at this time of year.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Hanukah Day 4 - Okay I forgive you for the pajamas

"Rainbow candles I see 4, let's play dreidel on the floor.

Well we didn't play dreidel, but we did have fun playing with out toys.

Oooooh....What's this? It's not clothes, thank god.

Wow a dump truck from grandpa and grandpa. Look it goes up and down.

A shirt that tells everyone exactly what I am a......KEEPER.

Rebekah can I help open your presents? And Rebekah is always willing to oblige Jacob's requests.

What a warm jacket. Thanks grandma and grandpa, this will be great when I go to 6th Grade Camp next month.

Also thanks to mom & dad the gift cards will come in handy.....love kim & david.

Hanukah Day 3 - I've Seen Better Presents

Our Hanukah has been a blessing. It is so sweet to see both of our kids concentrating on lighting their menorahs. Jacob is getting lots of practice putting his candles into his menorah.

While we leave the actual flames to Rebekah.....

So our story continues......

"Rainbow candles I see 3, mom and dad have gifts for me."

And it's pajamas???????? Are you sure these are mine????

Okay here you go, now where are the toys?

P.S. Although it's not documented Rebekah really liked her new PS2 games. I think that she may be getting a little annoyed with me and my camera.

Hanukah Day 2 - The Saga Continues

"Rainbow candles I see 2, one is purple one is blue."

Tonight Jacob made the connection to lighting the candles and getting a present, he was ready to get the present as soon as we finished the blessings over the candles. Although he was tired from daycare, he was ready to get into that package.

Jacob needed daddy to open the package for him to get his Lighting McQueen and Sally car. He loves the Cars movie.

Rebekah enjoyed the I LOVE LUCY candy that she got from Jacob, but it was then time for her to go off to her holiday concert at school. Doesn't she look all grown up.

Finally, Jacob was so excited about his cars and firetruck that I thought he would share this with the camera, however I was wrong. Once the camera came out I got nothing but the giggles, no matter how much prodding I did. Enjoy Giggle Time With Jacob.

Let the Festivities BEGIN!

I will begin tonight by quoting one of Jacob's favorite books......

"Rainbow candles I see 1, Chanukah has just begun."

We began the evening with Jacob attempting to put his candles into his menorah.

With a little help from mom we finally got there.

Rebekah started the gift opening with one thing on her mind..............

BOOTS! I guess if she wants to walk around looking like a mountain man, then so be it.

Jacob very much enjoyed the fire truck that Rebekah gave him.

He was even more excited to see that a firehouse came with the truck.

Happy Hannukah!
